P.A.C.T. is a
community based program endorsed by the Garden City Police Department
that helps members of the community become more actively involved in the
policing activities that go on in and around where they live. P.A.C.T.
helps neighbors become more proactive in preventing crime around their
homes. P.A.C.T. lets neighbors actively participate in improving their
own quality of life in Garden City. P.A.C.T. enables communities to be
proactive rather than reactive against crime and quality of life issues.
P.A.C.T. is similar to
Neighborhood Watch in the fact that citizens take an active role in
protecting their neighborhoods
and community. P.A.C.T. takes this a step further by assigning an officer
with the Garden City Police Department
to
coordinate efforts within each neighborhood. The officer will host
and facilitate meetings in their assigned neighborhood where people can freely
share information about issues that concern them. In addition, the
assigned officer will be the primary non-emergency contact for the
neighborhoods when residents have concerns. P.A.C.T. makes sure
representatives from your neighborhood will always have someone to
contact at the Garden City Police Department.
